About Versailles

Versailles is a Japanese visual kei metal band formed in the year 2007 guitarist Hizaki and by vocalist Kamijo. After recruiting guitarist Teru, drummer Yuki and bassist Jasmine You, they conducted their first show on June 23. Their essential features are heavy, but melodic musical arrangements, dueling guitars and their Rococo esque costumes. The group obtained a major world-wide following shortly After training as their debut EP Lyrical Sympathy, released by Kamijo’s own label Sherow Artist Society, received a coincident European launch the following year plus they performed in the Usa and Europe. Aristocrat released in 2008, their first full length record, was released in North America in the year 2009.

Versailles signed to main Warner Music Japan label in mid-2009, yet, on August 9, days after declaring he’d be freezing tasks for a number of reasons, Jasmine died. Their important debut record Jubilee was finished with Hizaki performing the bass guitar that is incomplete tracks. They went on a world tour that finished with new bassist Masashi formally joining and took them to Europe and Latin America. 2011 started with the entire group starring in their very own tv program titled Onegai Kanaete Versailles, which ran from January to March. Their third record Holy Grail was supported by their second world tour, and was their highest charting, achieving number 12 on the Oricon. On July 20, 2012, Versailles declared all tasks will be ceasing towards the end of the year. They released their last record, the self titled Versailles, on Sept 26 and following a brief tour, conducted their last concert on December 20 at NHK Hall. The group has reunited at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo for a concert on December 28, 2015 and has planned a different one in 2016 additionally.
