Japanese festivals are conventional joyous events. Some festivals have their origins in Chinese festivals centuries past, but have experienced great changes as they combined with local customs. Some are so distinct despite sharing the common name, and date they don’t even remotely resemble the first festival. What is Matsuri? (Such as local festival)
